A few years ago, I was a volunteer who performed site visits of prospective adoption homes. After changing jobs, I found I had little/no time to continue. My schedule has since settled down and I would like to, once again, become a volunteer - to perform home visits or perhaps assist in transportation.

From looking at your adoption list, the fence requiremnent is understantable, but can it be electic fence instead of a above ground fence, with the understanding that the dog would need to remain on leash or under supervision unitl trained?

I owned a GORGEOUS Tri named Zakary. I ADORED him! He has been gone for approx 12 yrs now and to this day, I STILL miss him! He was such a SWEET boy! I now own a 10 yr old boy named Dynomite who is part Collie/Shep and is a wonderful boy! He has a sister, Jewel who is part Lab/Husky/Rottie and they are amazing "kids"! We also have 2 cats, Krunch&Munch. ALL 4 get along so well. I love them all equally but am truly happy that one of them has that Collie look.

I had the privilege of adopting a ten year old collie two years ago. I was on the fence about adopting an older collie, but once I saw Baxter, it was love at first sight. Though I only had him for just over a year before he died, it was a magnificent year! He loved us, and we loved him to pieces. Never, ever do I regret taking him in even though we didn't have him as long as we hoped we would.
Though it's been a year now that he's been gone, I miss him immensely. He was my best bud.
Keep up the good work!

I have been trying to email your rescue league many times but my emails keep getting returned. I would like to rescue a collie, prefer a tri-colored, young. I have had 4 collies, and I am about to lose my last one due to old age and illness. I heart belongs to the breed. I have lots of love to give to another collie or two. We have always had sables but have wanted a tri-colored. We are open to sables or blue merle. Hopefully, someone will read this and contact me. Thank you very much for the opportunity to sign your guestbook. My heart goes out to all those collie lovers out there. God bless you. Alane M. Barrett

Enter your message here.We would like to send our thanks to CRLNE and especially Diane, Rebecca, Debbie and Todd for giving us the opportunity to bring Joe into our home. From day one he has fit in perfectly with our other 2 boys Jak & Dusty and into our lives. We feel it was truly meant to be. He is a very loving dog and has already picked out his spot on the couch. We would also like to share an event that happened with one of our boys "Jak". A few weeks ago in the middle of the night he woke up Marnie by poking her in the face with his nose. When she went to the back door to let him out he had actually gone into the kitchen instead. When she called to him he stayed in kitchen and she could hear him pacing by the sink. When she went into the kitchen it was then that she heard a hissing noise and then could smell the gas. So she turned the gas off and immediately put the dogs out and started opening windows. Jak is now our HERO and he certainly prevented something that could have been catastrophic from happening.
John & Marnie
Collies are truley a very special breed.

Hi everyone,
My family is going to Kentucky to visit family next week... Fri-Wed (Jan 5-10). I have a Collie and St. Bernard that are both very friendly. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative boarding? I live in Middleton Ma. I just hate to put my guys in a kennel for that long. Thanks, Colleen

I was wondering if there are any collie groups where people with collies get together? I know my Maxwell would love to meet some other collies and romp around with them. Also, does anyone know how to go about getting your collie involved in herding? Maxwell would be great at it, but I'm so confused about how to get him a trial run?

Enter your message here.We lost Ben in June to what was ultimately kidney failure. Early June he was diagnosed with lime disease where a month earlier he was negative. Ben was ten years old.We got him from a breeder in NH when he was nine weeks, Ben was an absolute joy for us. I would be interested in fostering or helping out with home visitations preferably in Maine where we live. Thanks 207-729-0292 or cell at 781-760-4347.

To friends I haven't met yet, I love your site & enjoy reading all of it. I am from NE & will be returning next year. My first collie was a beautiful cross I saw get "dumped" @ 3 in the morning. Lotus was with me 7 years until she died. I now have Duke, a 10 yo rough sable & white gentleman I am fostering (but will adopt soon) through NorCal Collie Rescue in Northern California. I love to read all your stories. Can't wait to return & see what I can do to help.

Hi Karen,
I enjoy reading this site too. Recently we gave up Benson(you can see his picture on this site). It was and is still a heartbreaking decision. He is a very good boy. He loves hanging out with other dogs. If you are interested in adopting a 2 year old Collie to be the company of Duke, please contact CRLNE.
Sincerely,
Thomas

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone in CRLNE.
Special thanks to Rebecca. You came to our rescue in such short notice. Without your help, we wouldn't know what to do.
We are very happy to know Benson is adjusting very well in his foster home.
Benson is a very special Collie. He always looks a little shy. Once he gets to know you, he will follow you everywhere. I remember he followed me everywher in our house just like a little kid. Everytime we did our laundry, he would try to help by poking the laundry with his cute little wet nose.
Benson will always occupy a very special place in our hearts.
Thank you everyone!
Sincerely,
Thomas
